Route 5 update
Thanks to the hard work of the JA McDonald crew Route 5 will be reopened to traffic by 3pm today.

It's a good news Monday.

I just spoke with the project manager for the Route 5 closure. They have finished the ledge work and have begun the cleanup process, and Route 5 is scheduled to be reopened by the end of the week.

Good morning commuters, the posted speed limit on Lake Morey Road is 30-MPH.

Route 5 Update
They have begun working on the ledges on Route 5 today. It is scheduled to reopen on May 29th. For those who like to ignore the road closed signs there will a eight foot deep pile of sand covering Route 5 until the road is reopened.

For those who don't understand the concept of Road Closed Ahead local traffic only. That means the road is open to access business, residences and property prior to getting to the barricades.

This trailer was taken from a residence on Lake Morey Road in Fairlee yesterday afternoon. The free sign was for the items in front of the trailer and not the trailer. If you took the trailer out of confusion and would like to return it please contact the Fairlee Police Department.

The trailer has been entered into NCIC as stolen and will remain entered until recovered.

Ignoring these signs and driving through the area that has designated as being closed is a violation of Title 23 VSA 1112, and you can be fined.

Traffic Alert
Friday 3/27/26 Lake Morey Road East will closed by 4317 from 8:00 am until noon for a tree removal project.

The Lake Morey Road near Aloha Camp will be closed for a brief time on March 25, from approximately 8:30am to 11:00am for tree work in the right of way. For through traffic, please use the East side of the Lake Morey road if you are hoping to travel beyond Aloha in the morning.
