When riding an e-bike, follow these rules to keep yourself, as well as others sharing the road, safe:
✅Always wear a properly fitted helmet
✅Regularly check your tires, brakes, and ensure your e-bike is in good working order
✅Use lights (front and rear) and reflective gear, especially when riding at night or in low-light conditions
✅Obey all traffic signals, signs, and lane markings
✅Be aware of your surroundings, anticipate potential hazards (like opening car doors or pedestrians), and be prepared to react accordingly.
✅Ride in the same direction as traffic, use bike lanes when available, and take the lane when necessary for safety
✅If you're new to e-bikes, practice in a traffic-free area before venturing into busier areas
✅Avoid carrying passengers unless your e-bike is designed for it, and don't ride under the influence of alcohol or drugs
✅Yield to pedestrians, especially on sidewalks or shared-use paths
✅E-bikes can travel at higher speeds, so adjust your speed to the conditions and your comfort level.
