Kinship of Martin County

Kinship of Martin County Kinship is a mentoring program that serves all of Martin County, MN. Fairmont Area Kinship began as a Healthy Youth initiative in 1998.

We positively impact the lives of our youth by establishing quality relationships with caring volunteers to promote stability, support, and friendship. FAK became incorporated in December of 1999 and the first match was made in January of 2001. Since then, the lives of over 110 children have been touched through Kinship mentoring. Fairmont Area Kinship is grateful to St. John's UCC for the generous donation of use of the parish house for office space and a place for program participants to call home.

While it is true that we try to do what we can to spread the story of youth mentoring, we also only know so many people within our circles. That’s where you come in.

Consider inviting us to speak to your group about mentoring. It gives us a chance to tell others more about what mentoring is, what it isn’t, and why it’s so important. Sharing our story far and wide gives us the best chance of finding mentors for our waiting youth.
