🚨 COMMUNITY ALERT 🚨

Our department has recently received multiple calls regarding individuals rummaging through vehicles and taking items from inside.

We’re reminding everyone to take a few simple precautions to help protect your vehicle and belongings:

🔒 Lock your vehicle every time, even if you’re only stepping away for a few minutes.
🚗 Remove valuables and personal belongings.
👜 Don’t leave bags, electronics, cash, or other items unattended in your vehicle.
💡 Park in well-lit, visible areas whenever possible.
🔑 Take your keys with you and never leave your vehicle running and unattended.
📞 Report suspicious activity to law enforcement.

While these precautions cannot prevent every incident, they can make your vehicle a less appealing target.

Please take a moment to check your vehicle before heading inside—lock it, remove valuables, and take your keys.

We are pleased to welcome Officer Seth Reinke as the newest full-time officer to join our agency! Officer Reinke has been serving our community as a part-time officer for the past four years. We are excited for his transition to full-time!

With over 10 years of experience, Seth Reinke is transitioning from part-time to full-time with the Fairmont Police Department.

We’re seeking a full-time Patrol Officer and establishing an eligibility list for future openings.

Whether you’re beginning your law enforcement career or considering a lateral transfer from another agency, we invite you to apply and join our dedicated team.

Starting pay is $39.88 – $44.15/hour, DOQ. Top patrol pay is $50.57/hour. Thank you to everyone who came to Fairmont Night Out to support the Fairmont Police Department and enjoy tasty pork chops and pork patties grilled by the Martin County Pork Producers! Thank you to Hy-Vee for providing the entire community meal free of charge! Thank you to Culligan of Southern Minnesota for providing the water, and KSUM/KFMC for helping us promote the event live! Thank you to Shayna Wolfe for staffing the Aquatic Park to host so many families during the free open swim, and for protecting the police officers and firefighters during our cannonball diving contest! Thank you to Mayor Lee Baarts, City Administrator Jason Baker, and Rich Johnson of Culligan for judging the contest! Thank you to Nick Lardy and Chad Striemer with the City of Fairmont Parks Department for helping us set up and prepare for this event. Thank you to everyone for showing your support for the Fairmont Police Department and for your kind words throughout the evening. We served over 800 meals and truly enjoyed visiting with you on the front lawn of the Fairmont Aquatic Park. Stay tuned for more photos of the event.

C’mon down tonight from 5pm-7pm to the front lawn of the Aquatic Park for free Pork Chop on a Stick/Pork Pattie, cookie, and chips compliments of Hy-Vee, Martin County Pork Producers, and Culligan for the Fairmont Police Department’s annual Fairmont Night Out! Stick around for the Cannonball contest between the Police and Fire Dept at 7pm!

Join us on the front lawn of the Aquatic Park for a delicious meal and an up close look at our local emergency vehicles.
