During last night's Fairmont town council meeting, I along with manager Jerome Chestnut, had the pleasure of presenting Captain Jonathan Evans with his Advanced Law Enforcement certificate that was awarded to him by the North Carolina Training and Standards Commision. Officers are awarded this thru a combination of years of service and training. Congratulations Capt Evans.

The Fairmont Police Dept is attempting to identify the pictured individuals that have been involved in larcenies in the town of Fairmont.

Sgt McKinnon and Officer Locklear are heading out to assist with the devastation in the western part of the state.
Please keep them and all first responders in your prayers.

Traffic accident in Fairmont, vehicle struck a light pole. Duke Energy is aware of outage and enroute to the scene to restore power.

The Fairmont Police Dept is attempting to identify the person in this photo. He is a person of interest in the attempted breaking and entering of a residence on Iona St in Fairmont. Thank you for your assistance in this matter.

Now is the time to be prepared, dont wait. Some areas are forecast to be up near the 20" mark for rain totals.
If you live in low lying areas and your residence is prone to flooding, your asked to find a friend or family member to stay with. Emergency Services can only do so much in these type of situations.
Do not attempt to drive in flooded waters and dont walk or allow children to play in flood waters due to concerns for contamination.
Stay home so the roads are not blocked for emergency vehicles.
