Vance Township Library had an amazing 'crowd' at the fire station Saturday for our special guest, author Bob Cyphers, presentation of his books. Bob discussed and showed some pictures of his 3 true thriller books as well as his Christian related books.
Bob did such a "great job" that some of the guests said if he comes again to let them know and they will come again.
The majority of his presentation was about the notorious serial killer along Interstate 70 .
Bob also has an interesting way that is a little entertaining of how he was involved in these cases.
Highly recommend you attend his presentations too.

We will have an interesting discussion Tuesday, April 7 at 6 p.m. at the Main Street Readers book club meeting. Public is welcome to attend.
We will discuss "Death in a Prairie House by William R. Drennan" about Frank Lloyd Wright and the Taliesin Murders during the summer of 1914.

Wednesday, April 1 the Mobile Market will arrive at the parking lot north of the Vance Township Library at noon and will offer low-cost food to the public in Fairmount until they depart at 1:30 p.m. It is amazing what you may purchase without traveling to another town. The mobile "food store" is very convenient.

Thank you, Balloons Over Vermilion, for the wonderful grants you gave to so very many organizations today at the Historic Fischer Theatre in Danville. This included 8 public libraries in Vermilion County, with the intention of using the grant for children's books or any needed items for children's programs.

The theme for this year's 2026 Summer Reading Program is "Up, Up, and Away in a Hot Air Balloon" (this does NOT mean a true ride in a hot air balloon, but paper activities about hot air balloons).

Thanks again to Balloons Over Vermilion for the grant.

How many Frank Lloyd Wright homes have you visited in the U. S.? That will be a question asked at our next Main Street Readers book club meeting on Tuesday, April 7 at 6 p.m. at the Vance Township Library in Fairmount.
We will discuss "Death in a Prairie House" by William R. Drennan. Frank Lloyd Wright was not at his country home he named Taliesin near Spring Green, Wisconsin at the time of the 1914 murders of his mistress, her 2 children, the butler, and 3 male employees working outside at his property.
Public is welcome to attend.

Saturday, April 18, 2026 --- 3 p.m.
Vance Township Library will sponsor TRUE murder cases at the Fairmount Fire Station, 403 S. High Street.

Bob Cyphers, our special guest, will discuss 5 books he has authored. The majority of his presentation is about the notorious serial killer who chose to murder innocent victims along interstate 70 (Terre Haute, Indianapolis, Wichita, St. Charles, & Raytown).

This book is titled "Dead End".

A task force was formed in 2021 with the attempt to solve these murders. This included officers from the crime locations mentioned above, and also the FBI. This task force chose Bob Cyphers, KMOV-TV to be involved in finding this serial killer.

Bob Cyphers and his crew produced a seven - part award winning series "Chasing the I-70 Serial Killer"

They were also featured in the People magazine about these cases AND on the Discovery Channel which won an Edward R. Murrow Award AND was nominated for an Emmy.

Bob's other true crime book is "25 Frozen 1 Thawed". He will inform us of some of the crimes in this book also.

The other 3 books are Christian related.

Bob's books will be available to purchase at this meeting.

With Bob's expertise, these books are a must-read !!!

p.s. Bob has another crime book coming out later this March which will also be available at this meeting.
