Due to increasing fire danger, shooting restrictions are now in effect across Pike-San Isabel National Forests. Please review the details and help reduce wildfire risk in our community.

Recreational target shooting restrictions are in effect on the South Platte, South Park and Pikes Peak ranger districts of the PSICC in support of the emergency Stage 1 Fire Restriction order. This order is in effect from April 1, 2026, at 12:01 a.m. through August 1, 2026, at 11:59 p.m., unless rescinded.

Details about the restrictions can be found on our website: https://www.fs.usda.gov/r02/psicc/alerts/pike-national-forest-recreational-target-shooting-restrictions

Stage II Fire Restrictions remain in place for Park County UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE.

Additionally, there is a Red Flag Warning today, March 26, 2026, from 11am until 6pm. Please use extreme caution and do not hesitate to report violations -- ignoring a burn ban puts our entire community at risk.

North-West Fire Protection District responded today on a mutual aid wildfire in support of Jefferson-Como Fire Protection District on the Litmer Fire. Through quick action and strong coordination, the fire was contained at approximately 13 acres.

With extremely dry fuels and high winds, conditions remain critical. We are currently under a Stage 2 Fire Ban in Park County. Please avoid anything that could create a spark and help prevent the next wildfire.

Effective immediately as of March 19, 2026, at 6:31 PM, Park County is now in a stage two fire ban. This is no surprise to anyone, I'm sure, as we all know we didn't get the snow this winter, but you might as well buckle up; this spring and summer will be rough unless we get a ton of moisture.

North-West Fire is looking to see if anyone in our community has a vehicle they would be willing to donate for extrication training? The vehicle does not need to be in running condition. These vehicles allow our crews to train hands on and stay prepared for real world emergencies.

Ongoing, realistic training is incredibly important. It helps our firefighters practice critical skills, work safely as a team, and be ready when seconds count for our neighbors and visitors alike.

If you have a vehicle you’d be willing to donate, please send us a private message.

Thank you for the continued support you show our department. It’s a privilege to serve this community and be there when you need us.
