Hello all, recently a resident was approached by a sales representative at their home, whom they did not think was a legitimate sales representative. This person felt highly pressured by the representative to provide information and/or purchase the product or service.
We are encouraging the public to be cautious and if someone comes to your door to offer or sell something and you are concerned at all to:
Obtain identifying information from the sales rep (name, organization, and/or business card)
Always do so safely. If you feel unsafe, call Law Enforcement immediately.
Provide the sales rep with NO personal information.
AND
Contact dispatch at 719 836-4121 (option 5) to report the incident to Law Enforcement.
Also, phone calls purporting to be sales reps of legitimate businesses or authorities from a government entity should be treated with the same scrutiny, especially if the sales reps are asking you for financial or personal information, until you can be sure of the person’s intentions and identity.
