This evening Mayor Tim Manross recognized the outstanding efforts of Ptl. Kyle Ochsner and Det. Kyleigh OโBrien, over the handling of the May 2022 shooting case and later conviction of the suspect.

Today we had a few more members of our department obtain TASER certifications. Ptl. Sedivy, Aux. Medina, and Administrative Assistant Calhoun all completed the course. Ptl. Sedivy underwent a live fire demonstration of being hit by the TASER device.โก

Today the Fairport Harbor Safety Forces visited our local schools and Senior Center. We brought Santa and Fire Pup to hand out candy canes as a special surprise. ๐๐๐ ๐ฒ๐ท

NOTICE: There will be a tree removal in the 200 block of New Street on 12/09/2022. The removal will force a street closure for an undisclosed amount of time during the day. A temporary no-parking zone will be in effect in that area this afternoon through tomorrow to allow room for the removal equipment.

We would like to advise that the Fairport Harbor Police Department is currently investigating the fight that occurred last night at the High School. This was after normal school hours.
We also want to assure our community and school parents that our Police Dept. is committed to the safety and security of our students.

We have been present at the High School as a proactive security presence as well. Please see the official notification below from FHS:
FH_Schools: I want to make you aware that the Fairport Harbor Police Department presence at Harding MS/Jr./High School this morning was to complete the investigation of a fight that took place last night involving students from another school district. I apologize for any alarm this may have caused.

School Safety Committee Survey
The Fairport Harbor School District is working to develop a School Safety Committee. The purpose of this committee will be to ensure the highest level of safety and security for our students, staff, and school community. We are asking for your insight as well as your interest in being on one of the team's subcommittees. This will be a collaborative effort between district leadership, the Fairport Harbor Police and Fire Departments, along with our community members and families.

That time of the year!
Snow: Just a reminder to residents and visitors, to move vehicles off of the streets during heavy snowfalls to allow for plowing. Whenever there is a snowfall of two inches or more, an emergency parking ban will take effect and parking is prohibited in the street. Thank you.

We would like to welcome Cristina Medina as our newest Auxiliary Officer. Cristina recently became a US Citizen ๐บ๐ธ and always wanted to be a Police Officer and serve the public. She currently plans on attending the police academy early next year and is excited about working in our community.

Today we had in-service training for staff members at the Fairport Harbor Exempted Schools on Active Threat Response and Stop the Bleed. The training was conducted by Jeremy Jesenovec who has over 30 years of law enforcement experience and a certified instructor in these topics. The training is part of the new FHPD and FHS Safety Committee Initiative.
