Auxiliary Officers Harvey and Daub were out assisting with pedestrian crossings following tonight’s Queen of Hearts event at the Highwater Tavern.

🏫 Back to School with SRO Sheahan! 👮‍♂️

As we start the second day of school, SRO Sheahan is already getting back into the swing of things after spending his summer break assigned to road patrol!

Having our School Resource Officer back in the building is about much more than school safety. SRO Sheahan is there each day to build positive relationships with students, support our teachers and staff, and help make sure everyone has a safe and welcoming environment to learn and grow.

After a summer of patrolling the streets of Fairport Harbor, he's traded the patrol car for the school hallways and is ready for another great year!

We wish all of our students, teachers, staff, and families a safe, successful, and enjoyable school year! 📚✏️

🚨 TRAFFIC CHANGE ADVISORY – FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL 🚨

Beginning tomorrow, Thursday, August 20, motorists will notice temporary traffic and parking changes on Vine Street between New Fourth Street and Third Street due to the start of the school year. 🏫🚗

➡️ Vine Street will be ONE-WAY, NORTHBOUND ONLY in this area.
⛔ No southbound traffic will be permitted on this section of Vine Street.

🅿️ ON-STREET PARKING RESTRICTION:
Street parking along this section of Vine Street will also be temporarily prohibited on school days, Monday through Friday, from 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM. This parking restriction will be enforced during those hours. Parking will be permitted outside of the posted restriction unless otherwise prohibited.

This temporary traffic change will not interfere with FHEVS's planned student pickup and drop-off procedures utilizing the upper parking lot of the school. However, please be advised that the upper parking lot will only be accessible by approaching northbound on Vine Street.

👮 Please pay close attention to posted signs and traffic-control measures, particularly during morning arrival and afternoon dismissal.

We appreciate everyone's patience and cooperation as students and staff return for the new school year. Please allow yourself a little extra time and help us keep traffic moving safely! 🚔🏫

We are pleased to announce that Mackenzie May will be joining FHPD as our newest full-time police officer!👮‍♀️

Patrol Officer May is a 2020 graduate of Chardon High School and recently completed the Police Academy at Cuyahoga Community College (Parma Campus). 🎓🚓 She is also continuing her education at Lakeland Community College, where she is pursuing an associate degree in Criminal Justice. 📚

Officer May was officially sworn in at tonight’s council meeting as she begins her career serving the residents of Fairport Harbor. ⚓💙

🚓 HIGHWATER QUEEN OF HEARTS PARKING NOTICE 🚓

FHPD would like to remind everyone attending tonight's Highwater Queen of Hearts event that parking restrictions will be in effect.

🚫 No Parking along the High Street and Water Street easements, as well as the railroad right-of-way property on the west side.

🚫 Portions of Water Street on the east side are also posted with parking restrictions.

🅿️ Parking will be limited, so please plan ahead, obey all posted signs, and consider arriving early.

🤝 We appreciate everyone's cooperation in helping keep traffic moving and ensuring emergency vehicle access throughout the event.
