Missed yesterday’s flu shot clinic? We have two more opportunities this fall!

Our next walk-in flu shot clinic is Friday, October 9, from 9 AM–12 PM at the Perinton Community Center, Room 209.

No appointment is needed! Clinics are open to adults 18 and older, with both the 18+ and 65+ flu vaccines available. Both are preservative-free.

What to bring:
-Photo ID
-Insurance card
-Cash or check if paying out of pocket

Most major health insurance plans, including Medicare, are accepted.

Can’t make it on October 9? Our final clinic will be Friday, October 16, from 9 AM–12 PM.

Today, Town Supervisor Jenn Townsend had the honor of recognizing the Daughters of the American Revolution during the 130th New York State Conference! 🇺🇸

Supervisor Townsend presented a proclamation on behalf of the Town of Perinton celebrating this significant milestone and recognizing the DAR’s longstanding commitment to historic preservation, education, patriotism, and service. 📜

Since its founding in 1890, the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution has united generations of women dedicated to making a meaningful difference in their communities and beyond.

Today, Friday, September 25, is the final day of our Fall Wood Mulch Give Back Program! Perinton residents can stop by the North Parking Lot at the Perinton Community Center to pick up FREE wood mulch while supplies last.

The mulch is produced through the Town’s yard waste collection and recycling program, turning collected yard debris into a useful resource for our community while helping keep it out of the landfill. ♻️

A few reminders before you stop by:
📍 Available to Town of Perinton residents only
🚫 Commercial contractors are not permitted to remove material
🚫 No machinery or powered equipment may be used to load material into your vehicle
🌳 Available while supplies last

A great morning with the Egypt Fire Department! 🚒❤️

This morning, Town Supervisor Jenn Townsend, Deputy Supervisor Meredith Stockman-Broadbent, and Director of Finance Matthew Ball joined members of the Egypt Fire Department for a welcoming breakfast and tour of the fire house.

It was a wonderful opportunity to get a closer look at the inner workings of our local volunteer fire department, meet the dedicated people behind the gear, and have meaningful conversations about collaboration, support, recruitment, and the important role our volunteer firefighters play in keeping Perinton safe.

We are incredibly grateful to the men and women who step up to serve our community. Their commitment, sacrifice, and willingness to answer the call make a difference every single day. Thank you to the Egypt Fire Department for the warm welcome, great conversation, and an informative tour!

Have old electronics taking up space at home? Perinton residents can safely recycle unwanted electronics at no charge this Saturday at Perinton Public Works.

📅 Saturday, September 26 | 7:30 AM – 11:00 AM
📍 Perinton Public Works, 100 Cobb’s Lane

Accepted items include:
✅ Computers and laptops
✅ Monitors and printers
✅ Phones and tablets
✅ TVs
✅ Cameras and other electronics

♻️ There are no recycling fees for Perinton residents. TVs are limited to four per appointment.

It was great to see residents taking a closer look at the preliminary plans, asking questions, learning more about the proposed improvements, and speaking one-on-one with Town staff and the project team.

Community engagement is an important part of projects like this. Hearing directly from the people who live, travel, walk, and bike in the area helps us better understand what matters to our residents as we move through the design process. Your questions, feedback, and local perspective are valuable, and we appreciate everyone who took the time to participate and make their voice heard.

Town Supervisor Jenn Townsend joined Monroe County Executive Adam Bello and County Legislators John Baynes, Lystra Bartholomew McCoy, and Rick Milne today to announce new funding coming to Perinton through Monroe County’s Community Climate Action Fund!

Perinton is one of nine municipalities receiving funding through the new pilot program, which supports local sustainability projects as part of the County’s Climate Action Plan.

Here in Perinton, the funding will help us explore the next chapter for Garnsey Arboretum. The Town is looking to transition approximately 8 acres of regularly mowed lawn into low-mow or naturalized areas, create more defined walking trails for hiking, bird-watching, and other passive recreation, and build on the Arboretum’s existing trees, plantings, and natural areas. 🌱 The goal is to reduce mowing and associated emissions, support native habitat and biodiversity, while preserving the natural character and tranquility that makes the Garnsey Arboretum unique.

As the project takes shape, we’ll work with our Perinton Sustainability Advisory Board, neighbors and the broader community to help shape the future of this treasured Open Space while preserving the natural character that makes Garnsey so special.

⚾️ A special night for two dedicated Rochester Red Wings fans!

At tonight’s Town Board meeting, the Town of Perinton celebrated Chris Wells and his father, Tony Wells, whose incredible Red Wings attendance streaks have become part of a longtime family tradition.

Chris recently attended his 1,000th consecutive Red Wings home game, a streak dating back to August 2011. Tony followed with an impressive milestone of his own, attending his 1,100th consecutive home game this month.

Town Supervisor Jenn Townsend and the Perinton Town Board presented proclamations recognizing Chris Wells Day and Tony Wells Day in honor of their dedication to the team, the game of baseball, and the friendships they’ve built along the way.

We were also thrilled to welcome Rochester Red Wings General Manager Dan Mason to Town Hall to help celebrate Chris and Tony and their remarkable milestones. Mason is currently in his 31st season as the Red Wings’ General Manager.
