As we are in the middle of this Memorial Day weekend, your Fairview Firefighters want to take a moment to pause, reflect, and honor the true meaning of this day.

While many of us are firing up the grills, enjoying the sunshine, or spending well-deserved time with family, our hearts are with the brave men and women who never made it back to theirs.

To the soldiers, sailors, airmen, marines, and coast guardsmen who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country, we owe you a debt of gratitude that can never truly be repaid. Your courage is our shield, and your sacrifice is the foundation of our freedom.

As first responders, we understand the sacred vow to protect and serve. We stand in awe of those who took that vow on the global stage and gave their all.

To the Gold Star families in our Fairview Heights community and across the nation: We see you. We honor your pain, and we promise to never let the names of your loved ones fade into history.

This weekend, as you celebrate, please join us in keeping our fallen heroes in your thoughts.

Have a safe, meaningful, and blessed Memorial Day weekend. We have the watch here at home, because they kept the watch for us all. 🇺🇸

During National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week, the Fairview Fire Department would like to extend our sincere gratitude to the dedicated telecommunicators at MEComm.

You are the calm voice in chaos, the first link in the chain of response, and an essential part of every call we answer. Your professionalism, compassion, and commitment do not go unnoticed.

Thank you for everything you do—day in and day out—to keep our responders and community safe.

We try to have nice things. Our Administrative Assistant, Cathy, did a fantastic job of getting us in the holiday spirit. She even got blue and white ornaments to match our fire trucks. What happens, then? Our tree gets vandalized by some holligans in blue! We won’t forget this, Fairview Heights Police! Lol
