History and Nature Lecture Series begins Sunday, February 5 at 2:00 pm CT.

Join us to hear Leif Halverson present, "Helping Out The Boys," a brief look at the U.S. Sanitary Commission with hands-on instruction for making a bed tick and pillow tick similar to those from the 1860s.

Constructing a tick is not required. Stop on by to listen in, enjoy the presentation, and participate in conversation as ticks are constructed.

This is open to all ages and skill-sets.

If you are interested in constructing a bed tick and/or a pillow tick, these are the items you will need:

Sewing machine (or hand stitching)
For bed tick: enough ticking material for two sides, each measuring 7 feet long and 40 inches wide, 3 wood buttons

For pillow sack: enough ticking material for two sides each measuring 16 inches wide and 30 inches long, 2 wood buttons.

The Confluence Center will opens at 1:00 pm for those of you who may want to arrive early and get set-up. If you have any questions, please call 701.572.9034.
