Our officers came across some young entrepreneurs running a lemonade stand to beat the Texas heat and, of course, couldn’t pass up an ice cold cup!🍋

Supporting our community can be as simple as stopping for lemonade, sharing a smile, and encouraging the next generation. Thanks for helping keep us cool today!

🌧️ Wet Weather Safety Reminder! 🌧️

The Town of Fairview Police Department is reminding everyone to use extra caution during periods of rain and wet road conditions expected throughout the week.

Our officers will be out patrolling and responding to calls, and we ask everyone to do their part to help keep our roads safe.

Fairview Police Department Investigates Suspicious Drowning

FAIRVIEW, Texas — On Tuesday, June 9, 2026, at approximately 5:12 p.m., the Fairview Police and Fire Departments responded to a residence in the 900 block of Twin Oaks Drive regarding a possible drowning. The homeowner notified dispatch that they had located their pool service technician unresponsive in the swimming pool.

Evidence recovered at the scene indicates the technician arrived at the residence at approximately 1:00 p.m. to service the pool. The homeowner was not present upon his arrival but returned at approximately 1:55 p.m. and spoke with him briefly. Evidence suggests that shortly after 2:00 p.m., the technician entered the water and was not discovered by the residents until just after 5:00 p.m.

Upon discovering the victim at the bottom of the pool, one resident immediately contacted 911 while the other removed him from the water and began life-saving measures. Emergency personnel declared the individual deceased at the scene.

The deceased has been identified as 23-year-old Kenyon McGruder of Richardson, Texas. Next of kin notifications have been completed.

The Fairview Police Department is working in conjunction with the Collin County Medical Examiner’s Office to determine the exact cause of death. This remains an active investigation, and no further details are available at this time.

Fairview Police Department Investigates Fatal Shooting

FAIRVIEW, Texas — Friday morning, at approximately 7:00 a.m., a Fairview Police officer was traveling north on Fairview Parkway, about a quarter-mile south of Fairview Crossing, when they discovered an unresponsive person on the side of the road.

The officer stopped to render aid and discovered the man was deceased from an apparent gunshot wound. A handgun was recovered at the scene.
Following a preliminary investigation in conjunction with the Collin County Medical Examiner’s Office, the death appears to be the result of a self-inflicted gunshot.

The deceased has been identified as 73-year-old Thomas Wilson Horne of McKinney, Texas. Next of kin has been notified.

This remains an active investigation, and no further details are available at this time.
