“The United States and the freedom for which it stands, the freedom for which they died, must endure and prosper. Their lives remind us that freedom is not bought cheaply. It has a cost; it imposes a burden. And just as they whom we commemorate were willing to sacrifice, so too must we—in a less final, less heroic way—be willing to give of ourselves.”
-President Ronald Reagan, Memorial Day 1982

We’d like to take a moment to recognize Officer Averill for keeping one of the cleanest patrol units in town. Seriously… it’s that clean.

In fact, it caught the attention of a local bird today that couldn’t quite figure out what it was looking at. The bird spent a good amount of time flying into and pecking at the door, either confused by its own reflection or thinking it finally made it onto the force.

We’re still determining if it was trying to challenge its reflection… or apply for a position.
Either way, we’ll keep working on traffic enforcement, and maybe bird counseling.
Nice work, Averill.

We’ve recently received questions regarding the use of the Fairview Police Department shooting range.

While the department does have a shooting range, it is not open to the public. The range is currently restricted for law enforcement training and official use only.

This ensures our officers maintain the highest level of proficiency and safety in their duties.
If there are any changes to the status of the range in the future, we will be sure to notify the public.

We appreciate your understanding and continued support of the Fairview Police Department.

33 children.

That’s the number of confirmed child abuse and neglect cases in Major County.

To help bring awareness to this reality and highlight the incredible work being done by The CARE Campus, they have a goal to place 33 wooden children on the Major County courthouse lawn.

So far, 24 have been sponsored. We need the community’s help reaching 33.

The CARE Campus is asking each sponsor for $35 per wooden child, or $200 to sponsor the display. Pickup for the wooden children will be April 2nd from 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM. They are asking that you dress the figure in 3T clothing, and returns to the courthouse.

The CARE Campus, formerly the Yellowhouse, serves Blaine, Garfield, Kingfisher, Woodward, and Major County, working every day to prevent abuse, support victims, and strengthen families through prevention, education, advocacy, and intervention.

This is a partnership the Fairview Police Department is extremely thankful for. Their staff and board consistently show professionalism, compassion, and support for victims during some of the most difficult moments in their lives.

If you would like to sponsor a wooden child, contact:

📞 Tree Kelley: (580) 249-0223

Let’s help bring attention to an organization working every day to protect and advocate for our children.

We are extremely thankful to have Sgt. Rackley in our schools. Thank you Sgt. Rackley for being who you are.

Today we celebrate School Resource Officer Appreciation Day, and we truly have the very best serving Fairview Public Schools. 🧡🖤

Officer Nathan Rackley goes above and beyond every single day to protect, serve, and support our students and staff. He is more than just our School Resource Officer; he is a mentor, a role model, and a trusted friend to so many. We are incredibly grateful for his commitment to our schools. His presence on our campuses brings not only safety, but comfort and confidence.

Earlier this afternoon, the Fairview Police Department advised Fairview Public Schools of a law enforcement situation in the area near the grocery store.

Out of an abundance of caution, the school district took appropriate action consistent with their procedures, as referenced in their public statement.

The individual involved was stopped, arrested, and transported to Blaine County in connection with an ongoing investigation. The situation has since been resolved.

We would like to thank our law enforcement partners for their assistance:

Blaine County Sheriff’s Office
Major County Sheriff’s Office
Oklahoma Highway Patrol
Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation

These partnerships are vital to maintaining the safety of our community, and we appreciate the coordination and support provided.

As always, the safety of our community remains a top priority.

Preparation today. Protection tomorrow.

The Fairview Police Department, alongside numerous local, county, and state partners, recently conducted a large-scale, multi-agency emergency response training focused on enhancing safety and coordination across Fairview Public Schools campuses.

This training strengthened unified response, communication, and reunification procedures, ensuring first responders and school staff are better prepared should an emergency ever occur. While we pray this training is never needed beyond an exercise, preparation of this nature is essential to protecting our students, staff, and community.

Chief Darin Reames formally recognized Sergeant Nathan Rackley, SRO, for his extensive planning, leadership, and forward-thinking vision in coordinating this effort. His work helped expose many participants to training they had not previously experienced and reinforced a shared commitment to readiness and public safety.

We are grateful to all agencies, school personnel, and community partners who invested their time and expertise to make this training possible.
