We’ll miss you Louise! Congratulations on your retirement! Thank you for everything!

🎉 Happy Retirement, Louise Portuese! 🎉

After 20 years of dedicated service to Roseville Area Schools, Louise Portuese is retiring. Throughout her career, she supported students, families, and staff as a Building Secretary at Falcon Heights Elementary, a MARSS/SPED Secretary at Central Park Elementary, and an Early Childhood Para at Parkview Center School.

When asked what she will miss most, Louise shared a favorite quote from Mr. Rogers: "Play is often talked about as if it were a relief from serious learning. But for children, play is serious learning. Play is really the work of childhood."

Thank you, Louise, for two decades of service to our students and schools. We wish you all the best in retirement! ❤️ 🖤 🩶

On this beautiful last day of school, we wanted to say thank you to the Falcon community for all of your support this year. Because of your partnership, we raised nearly $36,000 this year through our large and small fundraisers. You are the reason we are able to do what we do. Thank you for the gift of your time, energy, and financial support.

Because of YOU, the PTA was able to fund the following this year.
-musical instruments for Mr. Schneider's Music program
-clay and glaze for Ms. Eiswald's Art program,
-gym equipment for Mr Newman's PE program
-listening stations, felt storyboards and counting collections for the Kindergarten team
-makerspace items for the 2nd grade team
classroom supplies and field trip buses for 3rd grade
-6th grade graduation and kindergarten graduation
-Books for 4th grade
-teacher appreciation meals and treats
-hammocks for the hammock forest and rocks for the pollinator garden
-$2000 worth of audiobooks for the library and makerspace supplies
-teacher stipends for classroom supplies
-in-school assemblies and Art Adventures
-scholarships and support for the 5th grade Osprey Wilds trip, 623 scholarship and the RAHS senior party
-community dinners and more!

We’ll see you around this summer and back at school in the fall for coffee/juice and donuts at Meet the Teacher tentatively scheduled for the morning of Thursday Sept 3rd from 745a-9am.

The details - order online and school supplies will be shipped to school. You don't have to remember to put anything in your kids' backpack for the first day.

Each box and add-on item is marked up for fundraising. All of that money goes right back in to supporting staff and students at Falcon.

If we exceed our numbers from last year, we earn $5 a box over that number. If I post obnoxiously about it on social media (from the PTA account) and send a few emails, AND we exceed our goal ,we get an additional $5 a box for every box over our number from last year.

We need to sell 73 boxes or more to get the bonus.

Last year, the specialists and student support services staff we giddy at all of the things Falcon fams provided for them through School Tool Box.

Students, community members and staff had an amazing day today planting some trees!

Each class got to name their tree, and while everyone had a good name, the crowd favorite was one 4th grade class’s “Tree-oncé”

As you may know, a number of trees came down due to age and disease last summer and the school was awarded a grant from Tree Trust plant 20+ trees on school grounds.

Those trees look tiny now, not over the next few years they are going to grow into amazing trees.

Added bonus: the trees on the east side support the learning goals in the curriculum! Super big win for our students.

The hammock forest should be going in before school gets out (maybe even next week) and the hammocks are on site for students to enjoy once everything is ready to go!

Final fundraising totals are still coming in but your generosity helped us raise over $13k!

All of this money will go directly back into our school community.
