Does insurance pay for senior in-home care? Medicare and private health insurance plans do not cover in-home personal care services, but long-term care insurance policies can cover the care costs if a chronic medical condition, disability, or cognitive problem develops. I was fortunate enough to help recognize this Memorial Day weekend in a room full of heroes, beginning with the swearing in of Commander Wayne White and his VFW Post 379 chain of command, followed by a presentation at the NAACP’s “Celebrating our Fallen Heroes” event in the same venue. Thank you, Wayne, for your life of service to our Nation and our Veterans; and thank you to our fallen heroes who paid the ultimate price in securing and defending the countless freedoms we so often take for granted. If you know a senior or disabled Veteran who could benefit from no-cost in-home care designed to help keep them safe and independent in the comfort of their own home, learn more about the VA’s Home Health Aide (HHA) benefit that can provide between 6 and 58 hours per week of these services at no cost to them: https://bit.ly/4oYtmxAwho.
