The Greater Fall River Healthy Families program provides education, support, resources and referrals to first time parents of any age who reside in Fall River through home visits and support groups. The program provides the same services to first time parents who are 20 years of age and younger, residing in the communities of Westport, Somerset and Swansea or any age mom living in Fall River. We p

rovide home visits designed to meet the families’ needs during the pregnancy and up to the child’s third birthday. We are committed to providing support to parents through the development of individual service plans that identify specific goals they want to achieve while in the program. The visits focus on building relationships with the families. Based on these relationships home visitors can introduce topics that include, helping parents become self-sufficient, make healthy choices for themselves and their children, encouraging them to pursue or complete their education and obtain job training skills, and promoting positive parent/child interactions. As part of the program we also provide interactive and engaging groups for parents that include transportation, child care, and meals. We encourage parents to connect with other parents and to have a voice in their community.

🌟 Celebrating Our Team’s Hard Work! 🌟

We’re thrilled to share that we recently had an outstanding site visit with Marissa Daley, Program Specialist from Children’s Trust. As part of Healthy Families Massachusetts (HFM)—a program of Children’s Trust—we’re proud to contribute to their mission of supporting families across the state.

This site visit highlighted our commitment to providing thoughtful, high-quality care to the families we serve and recognized the collaborative, supportive environment we work hard to foster.

We’re proud of the positive impact our work is making, and we’re so grateful for the continued support of the Children's Trust. 💛💚

"I'm so happy for our kids. They deserve all the work and dedication that is going into this center. It really is for them."

People Incorporated had a great day yesterday - and so did the children of Fall River.

We officially broke ground on our Early Education Center, and we had amazing guests to join us.

PLUS, Senator Ed Markey, in collaboration with Senator Elizabeth Warren, announced a $2 million federal appropriation towards this great project. 😮

While we take some time to count our many ways to be grateful, please check out the links below to the press release and the photo gallery from the event!

Fall River and surrounding areas are under heat advisory through tomorrow evening as hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses.

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.

If you don't have air conditioning at home or require access to cooling shelters, Government Center, the Fall River Public Library, and our 4 senior center locations are open during business hours to the public. Additionally, YMCA Southcoast branches will open to the public as cooling centers during this time.
