Just realized there was an error in the March schedule for Ymca Southcoast Full Plate Project mobile markets! The New Bedford market was on Tuesday, 3/19, not Thursday, 3/21. Sorry for the confusion. There's a market at the Gleason Y in Wareham tomorrow morning (3/22) and one at the Dartmouth Y on Tuesday, 3/26.

Our Story

When Massachusetts ran out of shelter space and began housing families in area motels we began supporting families through various community services. One of the gaps that quickly emerged is that even when a family was able to find housing outside of the motel, they were without possessions to set up a household; cooking pans, dishes, sheets, blankets, shower curtain, coffee maker, etc. The home project was then created to help those in need during these tough times.

Currently we are a small group of volunteers that are working together to help the lives of others. The store has serviced upward of 170 families and individuals in the short time that we have been operational. The majority were transitioning from a homeless shelter to permanent housing all due to different situations.

Our vision is to ignite a change in the culture of disposing of possessions by creating an opportunity for unwanted good to be repurposed for the benefit of others. We are hoping with your help we can make difference!
