The STEM Sailboat Activity was a BREEZE! 🚤 🌊 🐚
The children really enjoyed creating their very own STEM boats of all different shapes and colors, and one boat even had a treasure chest on it! HOW COOL! 😎
The sink and float experiment was a success with children actively engaging with each other to figure out what objects sink and what objects float.

Position: Museum Associate

Overview: Reporting to the Director of Daily Operations, Museum Associates are the primary staff members to interface with museum patrons. They welcome patrons to the museum, work museum programs and events, sell merchandise and answer general inquiries about local history, the museum, and community services from the visiting public. As a representative of the museum, displaying a positive and uplifting attitude is key. The Museum Associate is a versatile position and the ability to adapt to meet the needs of the Museum is essential.

Responsibilities:

Ensuring families/patrons have a wonderful experience at the museum by providing excellent customer service. This includes greeting customers, answering questions, and providing guidance when necessary.
Assisting with exhibit cleanliness. Including cleaning and dusting of exhibits spaces, assisting with setting up new exhibits, and breaking down outgoing exhibits as needed.
Responsible for the overall cleanliness of the museum, including cleaning of hallways, stairwells, common areas, and bathrooms when necessary.
Outdoor maintenance, including the playground and other areas.
Assisting with the set up and cleanup of birthday parties as requested by patrons of the museum.
Working at the front desk, which includes admitting patrons to the museum, selling memberships, booking birthday parties and field trips as necessary.
Engage with families and patrons to participate in programs and activities at the museum as needed.
Assisting with dedicated events and activities both at the museum and in the community.
Encourage our families/patrons to utilize the museum to its fullest potential.
Any other duties as assigned but not explicitly listed in this position description.
This is a very versatile position and the ability to adapt to meet the needs of the museum is essential.
Must be available on weekends and some evenings.
Must be able to lift at least 30 pounds, ability to go up and down stairs, and sustain periods of prolonged standing.
Be a team player, be responsible, reliable, and respectful.
Other duties as assigned.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $15.00 per hour

Expected hours: 15 – 20 per week

Schedule:

Day shift
Evenings as needed
Weekends as needed

Work Location: In person

Birdhouse workshop was quite the tweet🍃🪺🐦!
The children really enjoyed putting their birdhouses together! The fun began with painting, adding bugs,🐛 ☀️ and ☁️ sticker’s to the houses making it their own true masterpieces! We just had to share all the smiles! 😊

Thank you to Delightful Gardens for such an amazing experience, and joining in on this educational outdoor activity! Thank you to all families who came helping the ladybugs find their way home 🐞🍃💦We are excited to do this annually, as the kids had so much fun as well as staff! We love to see the kids enjoying themselves, learning about wildlife and how each and every animal and creature have a purpose here!
