It is too bad that the Maplewood Neighborhood Association - unlike other Neighborhood groups in this city - shows little to no activity and not encouraging residents in the area to engage in helping Fall River come together.
St Anne's...Niagra....the Flint Neighborhood Associations have all been very proactive and involved in projects to help better the city.
I attended a recent meeting and tried to find out if there was a way to help improve the children's playground at the park.....as there have been no swings, etc, for a while. It was stated that there were some funds.....but I was dismissed very rudely by the Association President, who told me it was not their job to take care of the park.....
In short, it was a disappointing meeting.....and maybe some changes are needed.....just wondering if others in the area have any opinions.
On a different note, the one awesome thing that I have seen in the Maplewood Area is the Letourneau School's 'Walking Bus'......and kudos to the staff at the school for creating such a wonderful connection with their students👍👍
..... Wanted to pass this on.....greatly needed and hopefully will be made known to all those affected by this - nearly everyone.
Thank you to the Niagara Neighborhood Ass'n
As Thanksgiving approaches, there will be a family without turkey or a person eating alone, please let them know there is no need to spend the holiday alone or go without.
The SCA (SociedadeCultural Acoriana) on South Main St, downstairs from the Cultural center, hosts Thanksgiving every year and ALL are welcome. Please share this with your family and friends, many are not as fortunate as us.
Is there a meeting tonight at the school
Do you live in the Maplewood neighborhood? I'm writing a story about the neighborhood as part of The Herald News' Future of Fall River project. Tell me what's good and bad about the neighborhood. What changes would you like to see?
Any neighbors in the Detroit st area of Maplewood??
Could you email a request to have our area sprayed, the mosquitos are ridiculous. The more neighbors email a request the faster they come and spray. Thanks !
