If you don't know this information now you will. {Balloons don't fly up into space or get to your loved ones in heaven. They come back to earth and choke wildlife.} Don't release them in our park or any place use bubbles, butterflies or doves. Thank You

Reminder Sunday Dec 10 2023 This is our annual "Make a Tin Christmas Ornament" with John the Tinner from Fairhaven Village Militia. In past years families of kids of ALL ages made handsome ornaments for their tree to take home and decorate or give as gifts! Make sure you join us this year! A small donation to the house is all we ask. Make your holiday shine with 18th Century style Tin.

All proceeds go to support the Lafayette Durfee House and events like this.
This program is supported by the Fall River Cultural Council, a local agency which is supported by the Massachusetts Cultural Council, a state agency

Veterans Assistance Plan

(FALL RIVER, MA-DECEMBER 1, 2023)- The City of Fall River has put aside a portion of the funding received from the American Rescue Plan Act to be used for veterans in need of assistance.

Funds would be used to create a need-based program for veterans to help with payments for utility, food, rent, medical and transportation.

Veterans must present a copy of their DD-214. Funds will be distributed on a need-based assistance.

Twenty percent of the population in the city, which includes 800 veterans, are living below the poverty level. Chapter 115, a program that assists veterans with little income, only services one quarter of those veterans.

Veterans who wish to apply for assistance from this program can call the Fall River Veterans Services Office at 508-324-2432.

To all our Friends:

We are back and open for the Winter Season. The Park is open from dawn to dusk and you are welcome to stroll the Correia Boardwalk, enjoy the finest views of Battleship Cove, and explore our StoryWalks! Try one of our self-guided tours and discover Fall River history.

The Visitor Center, located in the Captain Thomas J. Hudner Memorial Building at 100 Davol Street, is open daily from 8:30-3:30, seven days per week. We are hosting a new exhibit on the origins of the Commonwealth. This is a tale of two colonies: Plimoth and the larger Massachusetts Bay Colony. A loan from the Secretary of State, Fall River is the first community in the State to host this new exhibit! We have enhanced it with dioramas of the villages of Plimoth and Wampanoag Fall River and interpretive programs by our local partners, including the Pocasset Wampanoag Tribe and the Lafayette Durfee House.

Please join us for a full slate of winter programming!

Today we celebrate the start of Native American Heritage Month! We give thanks for being a part of a rich, vibrant and flourishing culture, and are proud to be Native American! There’s great work being done here as family and community members teach our stories, our legacy and our culture to our guests within the surrounding communities.

We’re keeping our traditions alive and passing down our knowledge to younger generations.
