Today I had the chance to visit Spectrum Empowerment Productions on Pleasant Street and meet with Donald. Walking through their doors, it was easy to see that this organization was built on the same values that drive everything we’re trying to accomplish with Mae’s Playground—acceptance, inclusion, opportunity, and community.
Our conversation was incredibly inspiring. When you meet people who genuinely believe in creating spaces where everyone belongs, you know you’re talking to the right person. I’m excited about the opportunity to work together and build something meaningful for our community.
I can’t share all the details just yet, but over the next several or two we’ll be announcing a special collaboration involving Mae’s Playground, Fall River Police, Fall River EMS, The Elks Club, and Spectrum Empowerment Productions. It’s a project that has the potential to make a real impact on families throughout our city.

When I build these sensory projects for Mae, I get to step away from the noise for a little bit. The best part is, it helps both of us.Mae get a space where she can learn, explore, and grow through sensory play, while I get an outlet that helps me navigate the challenges life has thrown at our family lately. It’s about turning pain into purpose and finding ways to keep moving forward.No matter what’s next💙💪🏼

McDonald’s changing their containers probably seems like a simple marketing decision. Meanwhile, autism parents everywhere are gearing up for a full-scale presentation complete with evidence, witness testimony, and a PowerPoint explaining that the French fries inside are, in fact, the exact same French fries as yesterday. I honestly don’t know where Jess and I would be without the autism community and the parents who were willing to share their experiences with us.
From the very beginning,even before Mae was officially diagnosed,we were welcomed with open arms. Other parents took the time to share resources, advice, and the things that helped their own families navigate this journey. They didn’t have to, but they did.
Some of the most valuable information we’ve ever received didn’t come from a textbook, a website, or a professional. It came from parents who were living it every single day. The little tips, tricks, and words of encouragement that help you make it through difficult moments often come from someone who truly understands what you’re going through.
The autism community has been one of the most supportive, compassionate, and welcoming groups of people we’ve ever encountered. Whether it was celebrating victories, sharing struggles, or simply reminding us that we weren’t alone, this community has helped shape our journey in ways I can never fully put into words.
For that, I will always be grateful. 💙🧩
