We at CFC are saddened to learn about the passing of our longtime board member/Board Secretary, Ronald Costa. Ron had a storied history of serving his community by serving CFC and several other local boards and councils. We were fortunate enough to celebrate his decades of service at our 2024 Annual Board Meeting where these photos were taken. His life and service have left a meaningful impact in our lives and the lives of many others. We offer our deepest sympathies to Ron's family and friends.

Our CFC team was present at the United Way of Greater Fall River, Inc. Live United Awards last night! It's always so inspiring to hear about the impact the United Way provides in supporting community partners like CFC get funds to provide on-the-ground services for our in-need community members. Congrats to all the award recipients and the United Way for putting on such a wonderful event.

Executive Director Liz, Deputy Director Garth, and Board Member Joan all took a visit to the Ocean Grove CFC Head Start Center in Swansea to read to the kids! We're not sure if the adults or the kids have more fun!

This is partnership in action! Today we had a visit from Senator Michael Rodrigues who met with parents at our Head Start Aldrich School Site that are attending ESOL classes that are made possible through a grant Sen Rodrigues helped us secure that utilizes teaching resources from SER Jobs. By these parents from Haiti, Cape Verde, Egypt, and other countries making the conscious effort to hone their English skills, they are helping to ensure their future success and the success of their family in the country. Thank you to the Senator, Maria Ferreira-Bedard and her SER Jobs team, and the entire Head Start team for making this possible.
