Thank you volunteers! Get in on the fun, come out for the next work day on Saturday, March 4 from 8-10 am.

Notice anything different about the trailhead of Monserate Mountain Preserve? In addition to the new sign, and all the habitat restoration and trail work accomplished over the last few years, the old rattlesnake sign was removed today. Thanks to the awesome volunteers who showed up to dig out the sign and move tons of mulch to the new plantings. Their work has made the trailhead an even better spot for all those pre-hike selfies!

We need some strong hikers to help out this Saturday morning!

Come out and give us a hand this weekend! Trails Committee volunteers will be working at Monserate Mountain Preserve this Saturday at 8:30 am. Volunteers will meet at the trailhead and hike in about a half mile, where they will install fencing along a new trail! Tools and training will be provided. Bring water and work gloves and be ready to have some fun!

Lots of ways to give back and support your favorite trail!

Happy New Year! Start the new year by getting involved with your community! The FLC depends on volunteers to help take care of our preserves and trails, and to plan events and raise funds. This year we are reviving some of our committees that were paused the last couple years. We are looking for folks to join our Events Committee to help us plan events like Stagecoach Sunday, and our Fundraising Committee to raise money to purchase new properties and maintain our preserves.

We have opportunities every week for you to make a difference, whether you like being outside and getting your hands dirty, or you prefer to work behind the scenes on a committee. All ages are welcome and no experience is necessary! Just show up at a committee meeting, or come out to one of our regular events below with work gloves, water, and sun protection and we’ll show you what to do!

Give us a hand this Saturday morning at 8 am! We'll be moving mulch from the trailhead up to the new plants to restore the first section of trail.

There are a few more opportunities to get involved with the FLC this year, and now is the perfect time to think about how you can contribute in 2023! On Saturday, December 10 the FLC Board of Directors, Staff, and Committee Chairs will meet for our 2023 Planning session, where we will prioritize our goals for the year and strategize on how to reach them. It’s a great time for volunteers who are looking to get involved in the organization to learn more about the structure and find their place to make a difference. All are welcome to attend. If you are a FLC member we also hope to see you at our annual Holiday Party!
