“Planet Art- the crossroads of Nature, Culture and Design”

Join Margie Jervis, Designer for Creative Cauldron Theater’s Sets and Costumes, and Visual Arts Educator, for an evening of guided hands on art making inspired by study of special places on the globe. Margie finds where Nature, Culture and Design converge in the creativity of the people of those places.

“Planet Art” focus Indonesia
Tuesday 6/8 at 7:00 pm

We will travel in zoom to Indonesia searching out the artistic DNA of Indonesia's art forms of textile design, puppetry, theater, dance and architecture. We will learn an experimental way to create intricate and expressive designs from that rich mixture.

“Planet Art” focus Mexico
Tuesday 6/22 at 7:00 pm

Explore the rich visual art history of Mexico, its plant and animal life, spirituality and magic. In our art project, creativity comes alive with imagination and an easy jump start for drawings of surrealistic animals.

Enroll for both evenings or one of your choice. The classes stand alone and do not need to be taken together.

With “Planet Art” no previous art skills are required, yet, the concepts are also open and exciting for artists wanting to enrich their creativity. You will be guided into a process anyone can do. Bring your willingness to experiment and share your discoveries.

Suggested Materials:

White paper, pencils, colored markers, colored pencils, watercolors, scissors, glue stick

Email [email protected] for Zoom link.
