There is more smoke coming in today. Please be careful when outside.

Here comes the next wave of smoke. Looks like the worst of it will be afternoon into this evening - roughly 3PM to 9PM. I expect AQIs to be on be rise during this period as well.

The hazy and smell of smoke has hit our area! Please be careful when you are outside!

Bad news with the wildfire smoke - this looks like it’s going to come in thick this afternoon. The state finally issued an Air Quality Alert - heads up especially for any sensitive groups. I expect more smoke near the ground than yesterday. Looks like this may linger through Thursday as well.

These fires are in Central Canada - very remote areas so they often wait for rain to put them out.

We are aware that Verizon is down. This creates additional obstacles as people attempt to access the 911 system. The fire house is currently open and we have wi-fi available if people meed access.

Falls Village still has 53% of all homes and businesses without power. We are working with our Eversource liaison to communicate outages and receive updates. At this time we do not have a timeline for restoration. If you are using a generator, please be sure that it is properly vented and not near your home.
