We're excited to announce that the beaches at Axtel and Laurel Branch will open for the season on Saturday morning, June 6! 😎

Beach hours are 9 a.m. until dusk each day. 🕘

A life jacket can’t save your life if it’s floating on top of the water and you’re sinking to the bottom. Having a life jacket on your boat, even if it’s “readily accessible,” is not good enough. Please Wear It so you can enjoy boating another day.

The Northwestern Fisheries District in Calhoun is looking for a Creel Clerk (Fish and Wildlife Technician I (Interim)) on Nolin River Lake.

The creel will run from the beginning of June through the end of October. Most of the time, the clerk will be on the water 3-5 days a week (including weekends) interviewing anglers from a boat. Someone with boating experience, especially using a trolling motor, is preferred. It goes unsaid, but boat, equipment, and uniforms will be provided!
