It was an action packed day in the Summer Sun when the Pendleton County Extension Office and the Pendleton County 4-H Association hosted their 'Fitness for Produce' program at the Park today.

First up was "Intro to Pickleball" and our Park Manager was all smiles seeing the amazing turnout for this new activity in the community. We saw some competitive players but, mostly, we saw good times and laughter being shared.
Pickleball courts, and the free use of equipment for the year, were made possible by a generous donation from the RC Durr foundation that we're beyond grateful for. Special thanks and recognition to Kenna Knight, Natasha Trauth and Meredith Crawford for all their hard work, commitment and perseverance to make this happen!

How do you cool down after a hot game of pickleball? Get out on the lake in a kayak to feel that Summer breeze and take in the spectacular sights.

Worked up an appetite from all the activities? Perfect way to end the night by doing a little fishing with the Hook-n-Cook class as Kenna grilled up some hot dogs at our picnic shelter!

Thank You so much to everyone who joined us for a GREAT day of fun in the sun! Truly appreciate the amazing staff at PCEO and 4-H for organizing everything to make this day possible.

When we invited our Campers to celebrate this Great Country's Birthday with a Patriotic Bike Parade, man oh man . . . they did NOT disappoint!

To paraphrase one of our favorite sayings from the 90's - Ain't no campers like Kincaid Lake campers because we had a GREAT turnout! We absolutely loved the decorations, the positive energy and, of course, some great tunes from our Golf Cart Brigade as we made our way through the Campground.

We cannot thank y'all enough for cheering on the parade and honking those horns as we passed your campsites. And to our participants? Y'all rock!

No better way to follow that up than with a watermelon eating contest and, on a hot day like today, our contestants were hungry to prove they were the best AND cool down. I think we laughed more than we should have but, boy, did we have fun! Thank you to everyone who came out and made this weekend something special.

We want to share every minute of the Summertime Sunshine with you so the pool is open daily from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., hiking trails are shady and cool, lake is perfect for fishing and kayaking, some great weather ahead for camping and our Rec Area is ready to host some competitive games. All that's missing is YOU!

You may have noticed lots of tiny little fabric pieces along our basketball fence! Well, we’ve been working with The Dream Depot to create a fun community art project to liven up the space!

We’ve been using scrap fabric, old tshirts, sheets, etc so it’s all upcycled materials! Have any yellow, orange, or red hued material to part with? It can be solid or a pattern and any kind of fabric. We’d love to take it off your hands! We’re starting to run low and we need to finish the project!

When you stop by Rec, ask us for some scraps so you can leave your mark on this fun project! (Once we get resupplied, of course 😂)

The Summer heat is officially here and we want everyone to enjoy soaking up the sunshine with us poolside.
But we want to take a minute and remind everyone that our pool is a Community Pool and open to the public.

What may be permitted in a backyard pool doesn't always apply to our pool. As a reminder, certain actions and behavior are prohibited:
(1) Throwing trash at lifeguards, at staff or at guests is cause for removal from the pool. Trash cans are located throughout the pool so please discard your trash appropriately.
(2) Alcoholic beverages are prohibited and visible intoxication will result in removal from the pool. We want everyone to enjoy their time with us but we need everyone to be safe while doing so. Intoxicated swimming is dangerous for all of us.
(3) Rude, discourteous and belligerent behavior towards guests or staff will result in removal from the pool. We can have disagreements but they should be held in a civil manner. Escalating situations may result in law enforcement presence and a seasonal ban from the pool will be enforced.

Our Park Manager is always available, if not in person then by e-mail, phone call or messenger on our social media, to answer any questions, comments or concerns about the rules & regulations at the pool.

Come out on Tuesday July 8th at 4pm while we host a Hook and Cook Fishing Day brought to you by the Pendleton County Extension Office!

No pole, no problem!! Stop by the Country Store and borrow one of our loaner poles! We will also have the fridge stocked with bait for sale. And our Park Manager will be on site if you need to purchase a fishing license!

Follow the gravel path down by the picnic shelter all the way to the lake!

Make sure to register with the Extension Office by calling 859-654-3395!

We’ve been so blessed to work with some amazing community partners! Very thankful to be able to host Pendleton County Community Wellness Coalition Splash into Summer again this year! Already looking forward to 2026!!
