📢 **A Message to Pendleton County Residents: Please Recycle Responsibly**

We are grateful to everyone who participates in the Pendleton County Recycling Program at the Extension Office. Your efforts help protect our environment and promote a more sustainable future for our community.

However, we must address a growing concern. Recently, there has been an increase in improper use of the recycling facilities. Items such as **toxic paints, oils, and other hazardous materials**—which **cannot** be accepted at our site—have been left behind DESPITE OUR BEST EFFORTS to make posts and hang signs that direct people not to leave them. Additionally, the recycling dumpsters are being used for **general trash and vehicle clean-outs**. These activities undermine the purpose of the program.

These actions not only jeopardize the continuation of the recycling program but also place an undue burden on staff who work hard to keep this service available.

We kindly ask all residents to **review and follow the recycling guidelines**. There is a large banner on the front of the recycling dumpster for acceptable items, and we have more information available inside our office. We would love for you to call us with any questions!

Programs like this exist to benefit everyone, but they can only continue with your cooperation and respect for the rules.

The Pendleton County Cooperative Extension Office does have surround surveillance cameras with good picture quality. Please, we are asking that everyone spread the word to their neighbors and friends to discontinue using the recycle dumpsters in unintended ways going forward.

If you know the vehicle shown, please have them call us at 859-654-3395.

Let’s work together to keep Pendleton County clean, safe, and sustainable. 🌱

Thank you for your understanding and support.
