The water did reach the playground this weekend.

At this time the playground needs to be considered CLOSED until we can get the equipment and surfacing sprayed off and sanitized.

We will post again when that is completed and it is open of play! 😊

Thank you to Jay Gee Manufacturing and Darling Ingredients for the replaced fence panel! Jordan Singer and William Jacobs did a fine job and their time was also appreciated!

Thank you to Lois Pugh for coordinating the work!

*Before the panel was replaced someone had created a web to keep children in and it looked lovely too! A great example of the community coming together!

We are working to get the fence repaired and apologize for any inconvenience that it causes in the meantime.

Thank you to the Good Samaritan who called dispatch regarding the vandalism taking place to the fence and to the Falmouth police department for responding to the call promptly and catching the vandals in the act.

This is a community park and will take a community effort to keep it clean and safe!

We will be doing some maintenance checks this week for yearly checks but also thank community members who have pointed out a few items we need to get repaired!

If you happen to catch something in need of repair please stay off the item and send us a Facebook message or contact the Recreation board.
Please be aware that we know that the zipline needs some work and the metal is wearing so we advise you to use caution or stay off this piece until inspection this week and we will update more.

We hope to have this playground for many years to come and appreciate your help and partnership!

It was a beautiful Friday evening for the dedication of Miracle Point Playground! We appreciated all those who came to event or sent calls and messages of pride and support to our team on this special day.

In many ways this dedication marked the end of years of hard work to raise awareness and the necessary funding to get Miracle Point built.

However, in some ways it marked the beginning.

This is the beginning of our community taking ownership of this special place. Miracle Point is privately funded by members of our community. So Pendleton County take care of it and respect it as though it is your own. Call law enforcement when needed without hesitation because the care and keeping of this playground belongs to each of us.

This is the beginning to see how local leadership can use this community-funded gift, something that is unique to our area, and support it with finances and action to bring our community together and tourism into our county.

This is the beginning of making not just this one area of our community accessible for ALL and inclusive but taking a look at all parts of our community and how we can include every child and adult. So many have mentioned the beauty of seeing ALL children and adults playing and interacting with each other at the playground. Does that stop at the playground gate and with our committee or can we find ways to promote accessibility and inclusivity in our community even more?

As stated last night, β€œPendleton County we are officially handing you the baton. How can you keep it moving?”

Please read the below Rules and Expectations. These are also posted at the front of the playground.

Specifically, no pets unless they have a certified service animal tag/badge.

Also, please keep shoes on at all times! The surfacing will get hot (especially this summer) and we want everyone to be safe! It’s a good idea to practice keeping shoes on little ones now so that they aren’t upset this summer when they absolutely need too!

We have been SO EXCITED to see the crowds at the playground! There have been several days where we have heard guests mention it was actually CROWDED! Our team is happy that this special place is such a blessing to so many!

Miracle Point is COMMUNITY FUNDED. With that said we need all guests to keep in mind that it is up to ALL of us to take care of the grounds and equipment. Although we don’t think any damage is intentional at this point and our equipment is β€œindustrial”, rough-housing and inappropriate play can easily break equipment.

If you see something, say something (if you feel comfortable). A gentle reminder to guests that this is a community funded playground and maybe the realization of expense (over $300,000) may be all it takes.

If you don’t feel comfortable or there is a situation negatively impacting the experience of playground guests reaching out to dispatch is also a safe option!

By helping our guests notice the ownership our community is taking in Miracle Point we hope to avoid playground closings due to damaged equipment.

*Our equipment team is planning to come at the beginning of the week to install benches, install our final piece of equipment, look at new options for our gate latch, and assess what is needed to fix the accessible zipline seat.

We appreciate all of the community support! We hope our friends in neighboring counties come over to play too!
