FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT FROM LATE TONIGHT THROUGH LATE WEDNESDAY NIGHT

Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible.

Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.

A warm front will lift north across the Ohio Valley later tonight into Wednesday. Several rounds of showers and thunderstorms will be possible. Widespread rainfall amounts of up to an inch can be expected with local amounts of 2 to 3 inches possible.

People in the watch area, especially those living in areas prone to flooding, should be prepared to take action should flooding develop.

Those men and women who gave the ultimate sacrifice for our nation were honored and remembered this weekend at two different events in Pendleton County.

The American Legion Post 109 in Falmouth hosted a ceremony on Sunday with guest speaker Lt Col (Ret) Robin Higgins. She related experiences of those she personally knew who lost their lives. Paul Florence was added to the Post 109 honor plaque with his family in attendance. The ceremony concluded with a 7 rifle volley, the playing of Taps and a light meal for all in attendance. The rain forced the ceremony inside but it didn't dampen the spirit of everyone there.

On Memorial Day, the City of Butler sponsored a Memorial Day parade, ending with a remembrance ceremony, 7 rifle volley, playing of Taps and a delicious catered meal.

The outstanding young men and women of the Pendleton County NJROTC participated in both events.

May we be forever grateful and never forget those who gave their all in service to our country.

They shaped the freedoms we hold dear, and their memory lives on in the hearts of families, friends, and fellow veterans.

May we be forever grateful and never forget their sacrifice.
