I was running for Falmouth Selectmen because of my commitment to the Town and my belief that a responsive government can improve people's lives. Once Representative Madden announced that he was not running for reelection, and after consultation with friends and advisers from across the Cape and Islands, I decided to withdraw from the Selectmen's race and run for the position of State Representativ
e. I realized that my ability to positively affect and improve people's lives will be even greater across a broader geographic area representing the people of Nantucket, Martha's Vineyard, and Falmouth in the State Legislature. I have reached out to friends not only in Falmouth, but on both islands as well. I am very encouraged by their overwhelming support and enthusiasm of my candidacy. It’s important that the next Representative for the Barnstable, Dukes and Nantucket district be someone who listens to their constituents, who finds implementable solutions and has the courage to lead. I believe I bring all these qualities to the table and I have a track record to prove that. I want to dedicate my energy, ingenuity, knowledge and experience to this task. An elected official's most important duty is to listen to and represent the interests of the people they serve. For this reason I am extending my listening campaign to Nantucket and Martha’s Vineyard. In the weeks and months ahead I look forward to meeting as many voters as possible, listening to their concerns, introducing myself, and gaining an even more in-depth knowledge of the issues we face.
