Attention All Personnel,

The Fannin Volunteer Fire Department proudly recognizes John Paul Pilkington as the first Junior Firefighter to successfully complete the Junior Firefighter Program. John Paul has consistently demonstrated the determination, dedication, and grit required to serve his community with honor.

He continues to advance his training after becoming certified in Firefighting I and is now actively working toward completing his Firefighter II certification.

Thank you, John Paul, for your commitment to the Fannin Volunteer Fire Department and for setting a high standard for those who will follow.

🚨UPDATE:🚨

Highway 119 is now open.

🚨Due to an accident on Hwy 119 and Weise Rd, Hwy 119 between Weesatche and Yorktown is temporarily closed near the scene of the crash.

Thank you to the Texas Forest Service Rural volunteer fire dept equipment assistance grant, the Fannin Fire Dept was able to purchase 16, 2-1/2 new hoses and 8, 1-3/4 hoses to put in service. Along with 4 new nozzles.

Just a reminder that during rainy weather the oils on the roads mixed with water can cause slick road condition. Along with water pooling on the road can cause you to hydroplane. We want to remind you to slow down during these conditions. The Fannin fire dept has already responded to 2 events today cause by the wet conditions.

In the volunteer firefighting world training is essential. We do it because we care about the community. 2 of our very own Cheif Drew Pilkington and John Paul Pilkington were able to get some great training in a “Downed Aircraft Drill & Training” at the Chase Field Complex in Beeville. The training was hosted by Bee County OEM and US Navy’s Fire Department at Corpus Christi’s Naval Air Station.

We would like to take a moment to recognize several of our firefighters for completing the Firefighting 1 training. They have engaged in several weekends of hands on training and classroom hours on top of regular jobs they hold and still responding in the community.

We would like to recognize 3 of our own who were recently invited to attend the midcoast disaster conference in victoria where they were presented an award for saving a life of someone in the community. Outstanding Fire Department Team award , recipients were. Thank you for what you do.
