This evening, Fanwood Engine-8 was dispatched to a cover assignment into the city of Plainfield along with other mutual aid companies. While at the cover assignment, E-8 handled an activated fire alarm and a MVA in which a car struck a utility pole.

For this week’s drill, members trained with ground ladders which included skills and techniques on raising, carrying and placement. Maintaining departmental proficiency in the use of ground ladders is essential.

On Tuesday April 28th, Firefighter Sean Manette was honored and awarded a Shield Award by the Knights of Columbus at their annual award ceremony. FF Manette has served on the Fanwood Fire Department for 20 years and counting.
