Today, we recognize Juneteenth, a day that commemorates the end of slavery in the United States and honors freedom, resilience, and the ongoing pursuit of equality for all.
In April 2021, the North Dakota Legislature passed bipartisan legislation recognizing June 19 as Juneteenth in North Dakota, and Governor Doug Burgum signed the measure into law. Since then, Juneteenth has served as an opportunity for North Dakotans to reflect on our nation’s history and celebrate the values of liberty, justice, and opportunity.
At Job Service North Dakota, we remain committed to supporting a workforce where everyone has the opportunity to succeed.
As we observe Juneteenth, we encourage all North Dakotans to take a moment to learn, reflect, and honor the significance of this day.
📆All offices will remain open today as we continue to support the needs of our community.
