The Happy Hooligans recently completed a week-long Wing exercise, designed to simulate a deployed environment and create realistic training scenarios that strengthen our Airmen’s skills, adaptability, and mission readiness.

Everyone came together as a team, tackling challenges with determination, professionalism, and a positive attitude. The commitment to mission success truly embodied the Hooligan spirit.

These photos capture some of the behind-the-scenes work and preparation that went into building the exercise and setting the conditions for a successful week of training. Great work by all involved in showcasing the Hooligan Way!

This post marks the beginning of our summer series highlighting the hard work, dedication, and accomplishments of our squadrons across the Wing. Stay tuned throughout the summer as we shine a spotlight on the Airmen and teams who make our mission possible every day.

Congratulations to Senior Master Sgt. Joseph Solberg, Master Sgt. Zak Bergstrom, Master Sgt. Daniel Mark, and Master Sgt. Blake Lehman on receiving the Bronze Star Medal!

The Bronze Star Medal recognizes heroic or meritorious achievement and service in a combat zone. The four Airmen earned this distinction for their actions while deployed in support of U.S. Central Command, where they demonstrated leadership and commitment to mission success in challenging and volatile environments.

Their service reflects great credit upon themselves and the 119th Wing. Congratulations on this well-deserved recognition!

The Happy Hooligans are taking on an additional new mission! The 119th Wing will be flying and maintaining the iconic B-52 Stratofortress, forming a new detachment, working in a classic association with the 5th Bomb Wing of Minot Air Force Base. If you want to test your limits and be part of this exciting new mission, contact Master Sgt. Berthold at 701-500-5401.

Today is Memorial Day, a solemn day to remember and honor the military members who gave their lives in service to our Nation. We pause to reflect on their sacrifice and the freedom it secured. May their memory be a blessing, inspiring us to live with gratitude, honor, and a deep commitment to the values they fought to protect.

Bowlers from across the country gathered at Sunset Lanes May 8–9 for the 61st Annual Air National Guard Bowling Tournament, bringing together 31 teams and 126 bowlers for a weekend of competition, camaraderie, and raising money for the Honor Flight.

For many bowlers, the weekend is just as much about reconnecting with friends and enjoying time together as it is about the scores on the lanes. Whether it’s a good game or a bad game, it’s always a fun time seeing familiar faces and making new memories.

Several Happy Hooligans also found success on the lanes during the tournament:
🎳 Senior Master Sgt. Curt Stetz and retired Chief Mike Rix placed 2nd in the doubles section.
🎳 Brad Fuchs from CE placed 4th in the singles section.
🎳 The HOOLIGAN RED team — Chief Master Sgt (Ret.) Bill Mattson, Tim Rezac, Master Sgt. Anthony Rezac, and Senior Master Sgt. Kelly Rezac — placed 1st in the team section.

The Happy Hooligan Chief’s Council hosted its annual retiree breakfast at the Air Guard Base in Fargo this morning to celebrate the retirees who helped build the proud heritage of the Happy Hooligans! Approximately 105 retired unit members attended the event, enjoying the opportunity to reconnect with old friends, share stories, and catch up with current members of the unit.

The breakfast was prepared by senior enlisted members as a heartfelt thank-you for the retirees’ years of service and dedication. Guests also received updates on current unit events during briefings from Col. Chris Domitrovich, the 119th Wing commander.
