Near Hope, ND, NDCUC board member Matt Powell shares that planting conditions have been nearly ideal for him this spring. ๐ŸŒฝ

Matt started planting corn on April 23 and have been making good progress in the field. While soil conditions have been good, cooler temperatures have kept soils on the chilly side, requiring growers to balance good field conditions with patience as they wait for warmer weather.

Thanks for the update, Matt!

Weโ€™re resharing this important message from North Dakota Highway Patrol.

With dry conditions and elevated fire risk across much of North Dakota, our thoughts are with the farmers, ranchers, firefighters and rural communities.

Weโ€™re hoping for safe conditions, protected communities and a much-needed rain very soon!

Itโ€™s been a big week for corn! ๐ŸŒฝ

Earlier this week, NDCUC Chairman Carson Klosterman was in Washington, D.C. helping educate lawmakers ahead of the U.S. House of Representatives vote on year-round E15 sales. The measure passed yesterday and now heads to the United States Senate.

When Carson returned home to his farm near Wyndmere, he was greeted by another exciting development: his 2026 corn crop had emerged and is officially taking shape!

Even during one of the busiest times of the year, North Dakota Corn Utilization Council board members take on additional responsibilities to ensure that opportunities to improve profitability and strengthen the business climate for the northern corn industry continue to move forward.

Thank you to farmers across North Dakota for the long hours and hard work that go into every planting season, and thank you, Carson, for giving us a glimpse of your operation during this busy time!

As some North Dakota farmers are wrapping up corn planting, others are waiting for the right conditions to finish the job. ๐ŸŒฝ

From Sheldon, ND, Justin Halvorson shares that his fields are actually a little wet. Across North Dakota, farmers are adjusting and making careful decisions to give this yearโ€™s crop the best possible start.

Thanks to Justin for sharing a view from the tractor cab during one of the busiest times of the year!
