Leadership does not always look like a title. Sometimes it looks like a conversation, an introduction, or a small act of showing up at the right time.

At our Lead UNITED event last week, John Machacek reflected on how his own reputation in the community has been shaped not by a position, but by consistent everyday moments of connection. The kind that seem small in the moment but can have lasting impact.

🚪 A conversation that opens a door
🤝 An introduction that connects two people who needed to meet
📣 An offer to help when it would be easier to stay quiet
💡 A new idea shared without knowing where it might lead

He described these as pebbles, small actions that create ripples far beyond what we can see when they are repeated over time.

The message in the room was clear. Leadership is not reserved for a few. It is something we all practice through how we show up for others.
