Spiderwort can be found in the pollinator garden on the south side of the library. But you won't see them open right now in this heat. They shrivel up and get dark in the afternoon to conserve energy and moisture, especially in hot and direct sunlight. On cooler, cloudy, or rainy days, the flowers often remain open much longer. The individual flowers only last a single day and fresh buds from the same cluster open the following morning. The first photo was taken at 7:45 a.m. The second photo at 1:30 p.m. ~Ukebrarian Allyn
