During routine maintenance at the White Sands Dog Park this morning (Aug. 19), Parks staff came across a section of ground bees along the western side of the pond.

Staff placed a sign and cones making Dog Park users aware, and added wood chips to the trail to provide a better route away from the nesting area. Users can also use the west side (or the higher elevation area behind the building) to avoid the location.

Please be aware and cautious in this general area.
