Congratulations to Jefferson Elementary student, Kenzie Ahn!

We are excited to introduce the 2027 Rice County Fair Ambassador Candidates!

Kenzie Ahn is the 9 year old daughter of Kimberly and Hoon Ahn of Faribault. This fall Kenzie will be a 5th grader at Jefferson Elementary. Kenzie's favorite subject in school math. Outside of school, Kenzie is involved with Rice County 4-H, Girl Scouts, Studio of Stars, School Patrol, JO Volleyball, SOAR (student) Council, Math Masters, Youth Choir at Trinity Lutheran Church. Kenzie is involved with Warsaw Willing Worker's 4-H club's Community Pride Project during the 2025 Rice County Fair. She worked with her brother to create a display and then they talked with judges about everything that their 4-H Club did throughout the year. Kenzie love going on the rides at the fair, especially the swings. Kenzie would like to be one of the 2027 Rice County Fair Junior Ambassadors because she has seen the Ambassadors at the fair and in parades and would like to be like them. She would like to gain the same confidence they have and continue to develop her leadership and public speaking skills. Kenzie wants to help others realize how important and fantastic the Rice County Fair is. Kenzie is sponsored by Ronda and Keith Prechel.

We're excited to showcase our new pollinator plot at Jefferson Elementary School! This project was made possible through a grant from the Melinda Vaughn School Pollinator Fund, a generous $2,000 donation from Community Co-op, funding from the 21st Century Community Learning Centers (21CCLC) program, and the partnership and expertise of the Rice County Soil and Water Conservation District.

A special thank-you also goes to our Summer STEAM students, staff, and community volunteers from Partners for Pollinators, who rolled up their sleeves to help plant 2,000 plants. Their hard work brought this space to life while showing that some of the best learning happens when students can get their hands dirty, explore, and make a lasting impact on their community.

We're grateful to our partners, students, staff, and volunteers for helping create a space where learning—and pollinators—can thrive!

🎓✨ Farewell, 5th Graders! ✨🎓

As you leave our halls and begin your next chapter in middle school, we want you to know how proud we are of all you have accomplished. You have grown as learners, leaders, and friends, and your hard work, kindness, and determination have made a lasting impact on our school community. As Winnie the Pooh said, “How lucky am I that makes saying this bye so hard.”

While we will miss seeing your smiles each day, we are excited for all the new adventures, opportunities, and memories that await you. Keep believing in yourselves, stay curious, and never stop reaching for your goals. One of Mrs. Linse’s favorite quotes from the year comes from Walt Disney, “ Around here we don’t look backwards for very long. We keep moving forward, opening new doors, and doing new things because we’re curious, and curiosity keeps leading us down new paths.”

Congratulations, Class of 2026! We can’t wait to see all the amazing things you’ll achieve.

Today, we celebrated our Jefferson Elementary 5th graders as they prepare for their next adventure at Faribault Middle School!

Over the years, these students have learned, grown, built friendships, and created memories that will last a lifetime. While we're sad to see them leave Jefferson, we're excited to see all they accomplish in the years ahead.

Congratulations, 5th graders! We are so proud of you and can't wait to see what the future holds.

We hosted a special breakfast to honor students who scored proficient on their ACCESS tests! This achievement means these hardworking scholars have officially exited the English Language (EL) program. Reaching this milestone takes immense dedication, and we are so proud of their success! Thank you to the teachers and families who supported them every step of the way. Congratulations, students!
