We had a great time at the Tom Polacek Farm for our Interseeding Field Day last week! Participants explored interseeding equipment, learned about soil health programs, and observed a compost extract demonstration.

Rice County Beacon is an online mapping and information tool from Rice County that is free to the public. It is known for viewing tax and parcel ownership information, but it also provides information that can be used for conservation planning. 🌱 Conservation in action across the Cannon River Watershed!💧

This August, more than 40 local lawmakers, county staff, and conservation professionals toured projects in southeast Le Sueur County and southwestern Rice County to see firsthand how conservation practices can help to reduce flooding, protect shorelines, and improve water quality.

From a newly restored wetland designed to store floodwater to native shoreland plantings and lake monitoring efforts, the tour highlighted the collaborative work happening across the watershed.
