We’re so excited to see you all tomorrow for Safe Summer Kickoff 👮‍♂️👮‍♀️🚲🛴 🌭

We wanted to send a few reminders to those who are planning to attend tomorrow.

The bike and scooter raffle is now open and the links to the registration page are below. The raffle will remain open through 6 p.m. tomorrow.

𝐇𝐨𝐰 𝐖𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐖𝐢𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐁𝐞 𝐍𝐨𝐭𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐞𝐝
The raffle will begin shortly after the event kicks off, and winners will receive a text message letting them know their number has been selected. Once you get the text, you have 15 minutes to head to the bike raffle area in the back of the park to claim your bike. Winners must be present to win. After the 15-minute window, another number will be drawn.

𝐖𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫
The Faribault Police Department is working with the National Weather Service and In-House Meteorologist Chief Sherwin in keeping an eye on the weather and the event is currently on as scheduled. If that changes, you can receive updates from the Faribault Police Department page, the Safe Summer Kickoff 2026 event page and a notification will be sent via the Safe Summer Kickoff App.

𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠
We will have golf carts shuttling individuals from various parking areas, but if you’re able, you’re encouraged to walk, bike or run to the event.

You've heard it before - the 100 days between Memorial Day and Labor Day are the deadliest. Last year, 111 people were killed on Minnesota roads.

To help reduce that number, Rice County law enforcement agencies are conducting additional enforcement through Sept. 7, targeting the four behaviors that contribute to the most crashes — driving distracted, driving unbelted, speeding and driving while impaired.

DOWNLOAD THE APP: On Thursday, May 21, our Safe Summer Kickoff scooter and bike raffle will open for registration, and you’re encouraged to get the phone application downloaded today.

We’re excited to announce we’ll be raffling off 100 bikes and 80 scooters! And with each one, winners will receive a new helmet.

As a reminder, you must be present at the event to win! During the event, winners will be notified by the app and text message.

Within the app, you will also find a map of the various activities/vendors, a spot to upload pictures from the event, plus the bike/scooter raffle registration.

The Police Department will have a handful of iPads available at the event if you’re unable to register on a device, but you’re encouraged to use your phone number so you can be notified of winning by text message.

Get those apps downloaded today, and set a reminder to register on THURSDAY!
