We had an "egg-cellent" morning at Farmers Branch Elementary School! The Farmers Branch Fire Department and Farmers Branch Police Department joined the third graders at Farmers Branch Elementary for a fun morning of science, engineering and suspense!

Students designed and built some very impressive egg-protection contraptions. The Fire Department put up their Aerial Ladder and the Police Department put up their drone and put the eggs to the ultimate test.

Some eggs made it safely to the ground, and some, well... back to the drawing board!

Thanks again to Farmers Branch Elementary for inviting us to be a part of this fun experiment!

Today, Captain Ball presented a Farmers Branch Fire Department Challenge Coin to Farmers Branch Police Officer Palazzo. Officer Palazzo assisted our paramedics on a recent call and did an outstanding job helping the patient. Because of his exceptional work, we were able to efficiently transport a patient experiencing a serious medical emergency.

We are honored to announce that FBFD has been recognized again with two outstanding awards for our commitment to cardiac emergency care:

On Saturday, August 8, members of the Farmers Branch Fire Department Pipes and Drums Corps joined pipe and drum units from across the DFW area to honor the life and service of Ted Carpenter of the Dallas Fire Department during his Line of Duty funeral.
Driver/Paramedic Smith and Division Chief Shelby represented our department as we paid our respects to Mr. Carpenter, his family, and the Dallas Fire Department during this difficult time.
We stand with our brothers and sisters in the fire service and offer our deepest condolences to all who are mourning this loss.

Last week, members of the Farmers Branch Fire Department had the privilege of sharing knowledge with firefighters from across the state at the “Making the Push for Nathaniel” training benefit.
Hosted by Buffalo Creek FOOLS and the Midlothian Firefighters Association, this outstanding event brought together more than 200 attendees and top-quality instructors from throughout the DFW area. The fundraiser supports a young man battling cancer who dreams of becoming a firefighter.
Representing Farmers Branch, Captain Lafleur, Captain Richardson, Firefighter/Paramedic Salamah, Firefighter/Paramedic Card, and Division Chief Shelby instructed participants in forcible entry techniques in both confined-space and difficult-door environments.
We’re proud to support this meaningful cause and to contribute to the ongoing training and development of our fellow firefighters. Thank you to the organizers for putting on such a valuable event.

Congratulations to Firefighter/Paramedics Cooney and Montano!

Both Cooney and Montano officially completed the Farmers Branch Fire Department's 12-- month probationary program, including quarterly exams and evaluations designed to ensure our firefighters are fully prepared to serve with skill, professionalism, and integrity.

As part of our tradition, each graduate receives their official FBFD helmet shield -- custom crafted by Chief Jason Shelby -- to replace their probationary shield. Cooney's shield was presented by Firefighter/Paramedics Snell and Bagley. Montano's shield was presented by the full C shift crew at station 1.

We are extremely proud of these two and are grateful to have you as part of the FBFD family.

Two of our FBFD crews were recognized yesterday — big thanks to Dallas Medical Center for hosting the lunch and celebrating some of our outstanding firefighters!
Station 1 had firefighters from all 3 shifts receive awards for calls they ran earlier this year. On both occasions, these firefighters/paramedics delivered advanced-level care to critically ill patients. They also went the extra mile by helping DMC staff gather vital patient information.
Skilled. Committed. Passionate about serving our community. That’s the Farmers Branch Way.

Last week, our firefighters participated in hands-on saw training, practicing patient extrication techniques and safe tool operation.

Training like this sharpens their skills and prepares them to work quickly and safely when every second counts. Great job to everyone who participated and helped make the training a success!
