This morning, WT83 assisted CAL FIRE with a prescribed burn operation in the Rocky Hill area. These controlled burns help reduce roadside vegetation and dry grasses that could otherwise ignite and threaten nearby homes and properties during fire season.
The operation was completed safely and successfully by 11:00 a.m. We appreciate the partnership with CAL FIRE and the proactive efforts being made to reduce wildfire risk in our community.

Congratulations FF Montes. Your hard work has paid off.

Earlier this evening, Farmersville Fire personnel assisted neighboring agencies with a vegetation fire in the area of W. Caldwell Avenue. The fire originated in dry grass and quickly spread, ultimately destroying a barn and threatening nearby structures. Firefighters from multiple agencies worked together to contain the fire and prevent further damage. One barn was lost, but crews were successful in protecting nearby homes and structures.
Residents are reminded that dry vegetation can ignite and spread rapidly during hot and windy conditions. Please maintain defensible space around your property, clear dry grass and weeds, and use caution with any activity that could spark a fire. Thank you to all responding agencies for their coordinated efforts and to the community for staying clear of the area while crews worked.

Last night, Farmersville Fire responded to a reported structure fire in the 900 block of E. Costner Street. Fire Chief Thomas, Engine 83, Engine 283, and Tulare County Engine 209 were dispatched to the incident.
Upon arrival, crews found a grass fire burning in the backyard and threatening a nearby residence. Due to the quick actions of firefighters on scene, the fire was rapidly contained and the structure was not involved.
The cause of the fire was determined to be illegal fireworks.
With dry vegetation and warm weather conditions, fireworks can easily ignite grass and brush fires, placing homes, property, and lives at risk. Farmersville Fire encourages everyone to celebrate responsibly and remember that illegal fireworks are dangerous and prohibited within the City of Farmersville.
This incident serves as an important reminder that a single firework can quickly become an emergency.
If you see smoke or fire, call 911 immediately.
Prevent fires. Protect our community.

Yesterday, around 2:00 PM, WT83 responded to a vegetation fire near Valley View Drive and High Sierra Drive, assisting Cal Fire and Tulare County Fire with fire suppression efforts.

While WT83 was committed to the incident, a second crew staffed Station 83 to ensure continued emergency coverage for our community.

Later in the day, at approximately 5:00 PM, P83 was dispatched to assist Tulare County Fire with another grass fire near Road 156 and Avenue 295 (Noble Avenue).

We appreciate the teamwork and cooperation between all responding agencies in helping keep our communities safe. As temperatures rise and vegetation continues to dry out, remember to use caution with equipment, vehicles, and any activities that could spark a fire.
