🔥 A HUGE THANK YOU! 🔥

The Farmersville Fire Department would like to give a very special THANK YOU to Joseph from Boy Scout Troop 310 for choosing our department for his Eagle Scout project!

Joseph designed and built an awesome roof prop for our firefighters to use during training. This prop will give our crews the opportunity to practice important skills and techniques in a safe, controlled environment—and it will be used to help train firefighters for years to come.

We truly appreciate the time, hard work, planning, and dedication Joseph put into this project. It means a lot to our department to have young people in our community willing to give their time and talents to support their local first responders.

👏 Thank you, Joseph, and congratulations on working toward such an incredible achievement! We are proud to have your Eagle Scout project as part of the Farmersville Fire Department! 🚒🔥

🎒🚌 A new school year is here, and that means it's time for all of us to help keep our students safe!

As children head back to school, drivers will see more school buses, crossing guards, bicyclists, and students walking to and from school. A few extra seconds of caution can make a lifetime of difference.

🚸 Slow down in school zones.
🚌 Always stop for school buses with flashing red lights and an extended stop arm.
📵 Put the phone away and stay focused behind the wheel.
🚶 Watch carefully for children at crosswalks, intersections, and bus stops.
🔒 Make sure everyone in your vehicle is buckled up before every trip.

Let's work together to make this school year a safe one for every student, parent, teacher, and bus driver.

🌞 August brings some of the hottest temperatures of the year, and the Texas heat can become dangerous before you know it. Whether you're working outside, enjoying summer activities, or spending time with family, taking a few simple precautions can make all the difference.

💧 Stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water throughout the day.
☀️ Limit strenuous outdoor activities during the hottest hours (10 AM–4 PM).
👕 Wear lightweight, light-colored clothing.
🚗 Never leave children, pets, or anyone else in a parked vehicle—even for a minute.
⚠️ Learn to recognize the signs of heat exhaustion and heat stroke, and check on elderly neighbors, young children, and others who may be more vulnerable to the heat.

Together, we can help keep our community safe all summer long.

💦🌊 Water Safety Starts With You! 🌊💦

Whether you're spending the day at the pool, lake, or water park, a few simple precautions can help prevent tragedy and keep everyone safe this summer.

Remember these important water safety tips:
👀 Always keep watch. Designate a responsible adult to provide constant, distraction-free supervision of children in and around the water.
🦺 Wear a life jacket. Use a properly fitted, U.S. Coast Guard-approved life jacket when boating or whenever swimming ability is uncertain.
🏊 Know your limits. Swim in designated areas, never swim alone, and avoid risky behavior or overexertion.
🔒 Secure the area. If you have a pool, install a four-sided fence with a self-closing, self-latching gate to help prevent unsupervised access.

Drowning can happen quickly and quietly—but it is often preventable. Staying alert, being prepared, and following safe water practices can save lives.

☀️ The Summer Heat Is Here! ☀️

High temperatures can become dangerous quickly, especially if you’re spending time outdoors.

💧 Drink plenty of water throughout the day—even if you don’t feel thirsty.
🌳 Take frequent breaks in the shade or an air-conditioned area.
👕 Wear lightweight, light-colored clothing.
🧢 Protect yourself with a hat and sunscreen.
👶 Never leave children or pets in a parked vehicle, even for a few minutes.
👵 Check on elderly family members, neighbors, and anyone who may be more vulnerable to the heat.

Know the signs of heat exhaustion and heat stroke, and don’t hesitate to seek medical attention if someone becomes seriously ill from the heat.

Stay cool, stay hydrated, and have a safe summer!

Strong high pressure and clear skies will set the stage for very hot weather across North and Central Texas the rest of this week. Highs will range from the upper-90s to the mid-100s. Accounting for humidity, heat indices will likely range from 105° to 112° each day during the afternoon and evening hours. Be sure to dress appropriately, stay hydrated, and have ways to cool off if needed should you plan to be outdoors this week.
