The Farmersville Fire Department is excited to announce the launch of its new official page as part of its continued commitment to providing timely, accurate, and professional communication with the community.

For the past 16 years, the department's current page has served as a valuable resource for sharing emergency information, department news, community events, and public safety updates. During that time, the department has experienced significant growth and change, including the transition from an all-volunteer organization to a combination of volunteer and paid personnel.

As social media platforms have evolved, so have the expectations for communication and public engagement. Despite several months of working with Facebook to update and improve the existing page, the department has been unable to make the necessary changes to meet the professional standards expected by both the department and the community.

As a result, the Farmersville Fire Department has established a new official page.

Effective immediately, all department announcements, emergency information, community updates, and event notifications will be shared through the new page:

7/1/26: We will be conducting our monthly testing of the Outdoor Weather Warning Siren today at 12:00PM. This will be a TEST ONLY.

*Outdoor Weather Warning Sirens are only meant to be heard outside. The purpose of this warning system is to alert people that are outside to seek shelter indoors.

🎆 Fireworks Safety Reminder 🎆
As you celebrate, please help keep our community safe!
🚫 Remember: Fireworks are ILLEGAL within the Farmersville city limits. Please leave the fireworks to professional displays and help prevent fires, injuries, and unnecessary emergency calls.
If you're celebrating outside the city limits where fireworks are permitted:
🎇 Keep a water hose or bucket nearby.
🎇 Never allow young children to handle fireworks.
🎇 Never relight a "dud" firework.
🎇 Keep spectators at a safe distance.
🎇 Fully soak used fireworks before throwing them away.
🎇 Monitor children with sparklers, the burning end can get hotter than 1,200°F.

Today, Chief Massey had the opportunity to welcome the Farmersville Fire Department's newest recruit... and let's just say she's a little taller than the average firefighter! 🦒🚒
Our newest "probie" may have a long neck, but we're confident she'll be able to spot smoke from miles away! We're still working on finding bunker gear that fits and a ladder long enough for helmet inspections.
Please join us in giving our newest recruit a warm Farmersville welcome! We think she'll fit in just fine... although she may have to duck when entering the station. 😄

🔥 BURN SAFELY – PROTECT OUR COMMUNITY🔥

Before conducting any outdoor burning, please remember that burning is NOT allowed within the Farmersville city limits.

If you live outside the city limits and plan to burn, always follow these important safety precautions:

✅ Make sure it is an authorized burn day and that no burn bans or restrictions are in effect.
✅ TCEQ regulations allow outdoor burning only fromone hour after sunrise until one hour before sunset.
✅ Burn only natural vegetation that originated on the property.
✅ Keep burn piles small and manageable.
✅ Keep the fire at least 300 feet from neighboring structures, or ensure the burn is located downwind of occupied structures so that smoke does not create a nuisance or hazard.
✅ Keep a water source nearby, such as a charged garden hose, water tank, or buckets of water.
✅ Clear vegetation and combustible materials away from the burn area.
✅ Avoid burning on windy days or when weather conditions could cause the fire to spread.
✅ Never leave a fire unattended.
✅ Continuously monitor the fire until it is completely extinguished.
✅ Drown, stir, and feel the ashes to ensure the fire is completely out before leaving the area.

🚫 Do NOT burn prohibited materials, including but not limited to:
• Electrical insulation
• Treated lumber
• Plastics
• Non-wood construction or demolition debris
• Heavy oils
• Asphaltic materials
• Potentially explosive materials
• Chemical waste
• Items containing natural or synthetic rubber

A small debris fire can quickly become a dangerous wildland fire. By following these guidelines, you help protect lives, property, and our community.
