SCAM ALERT – Farmersville Residents

It has been brought to our attention that a fraudulent letter is being mailed to Farmersville residents asking for donations to help prevent Farmersville from becoming the next “Sanctuary City.”

The letter falsely claims to be from Senator Ted Cruz. It is not.

If you receive this letter:
❌ Do not send money.
❌ Do not send gift cards.
❌ Do not provide your bank account, debit card, or credit card information.
❌ Do not provide any personal identifying information.

The safest course of action is to throw the letter away.

A copy of the fraudulent letter received by a Farmersville resident is attached for your awareness. Please help protect others by sharing this information with your family, friends, and neighbors.

We're proud to welcome Officer Erik De Leon following his graduation from the Texoma Regional Police Academy on June 2. After months of intensive training, Officer De Leon has officially joined the Farmersville Police Department and is ready to begin serving our community.

Before pursuing a career in law enforcement, Officer De Leon proudly served in the United States Army from 2007 to 2019, demonstrating a strong commitment to service and leadership. Born and raised in Dallas, Texas, Erik has been married to his wife, Lorena, since 2009, and together they have a son, Abel.

Officer De Leon now begins the next phase of his journey as he enters our Field Training Program, where he will spend the coming months working alongside experienced Field Training Officers. This hands-on training is designed to build the knowledge, confidence, and decision-making skills necessary to provide the highest level of service to our community.

Please join us in congratulating Officer De Leon and welcoming him to the Farmersville Police Department as he begins his career in law enforcement!

Today, Farmersville Police Department's Evidence Technician and Code Enforcement Officer spent some time visiting the town's parks and handing out popsicles to help everyone stay cool in the sunshine.

We always appreciate opportunities to connect with our community, share a few smiles, and make the most of these warm summer days.

Stay safe, stay hydrated, and enjoy the rest of this beautiful day!

On Wednesday, June 17th at 6:00 PM, members of the Farmersville Police Department will be walking through the Westgate St neighborhood as part of our ongoing Walk Wednesday program.

Walk Wednesdays are an opportunity for officers to connect with residents outside of calls for service, build relationships, and have casual conversations with community members. During this time, officers may stop by to knock on doors, introduce themselves, answer questions, and get to know the neighbors they serve.

This initiative is part of our commitment to strengthening community partnerships and fostering positive interactions between residents and the police department.

If you see our officers in the neighborhood, know that they are there to connect with the community and learn more about the people who call Westgate Dr home.
