This year we’re reading They Called Us Enemy by George Takei, a powerful graphic memoir exploring patriotism, family, identity, and what it means to be American. Pick up a copy from your local Tulare County Library branch today, while supplies last. Request a copy with a valid Library card. Until June 6, access the eBooks in English and Spanish versions on Libby by OverDrive.

This summer, Unearth A Story at your local Library and participate in our 2026 Summer Reading Challenge! From Tuesday, June 9 through Saturday, July 18, readers of all ages are invited to join this free program and celebrate reading all summer long. Starting June 9, you can sign up online at tularecountylibrary.beanstack.org or by downloading the Beanstack Tracker app from your device’s app store. Prefer a paper log? Stop by our branch to register in person and pick one up.

This year, children ages 0-5 are challenged to read 20 books, while kids 6-12, teens, and adults aim to read for 20 days. You can read books, eBooks, magazines, articles, or listen to eAudiobooks—whatever fits your style. Visit tularecountylibrary.org/src for more information. We look forward to seeing you at the Library this summer!
