REMINDER: City offices will be closed today, Sept. 7, 2026, in honor of Labor Day.

Also, there will be no garbage, recycling or yard waste collection today. Pick up will resume on Tuesday and be one day behind Tuesday-Saturday.

After the Sept. 3 storm, Farmington Hills Department of Public Works is clearing debris from public roads and City property. Tree debris on private property must be handled by the owner.

Residents can dispose of yard waste by bagging it, using a labeled can, bundling small limbs, or mulching leaves/grass.

The November election will be here before you know it!

If you’ve already requested an Absentee Voter ballot, or you’re on the permanent ballot list, you can pick up your ballot in person on Thursday, Sept. 24 and Friday, Sept. 25 at the City Clerk’s Office from 8:30 a.m.–6 p.m.

This is an early pick‑up option before the bulk mailing goes out on Sept. 28.

Please remember: Voters may only pick up their own ballot and must show an acceptable form of photo ID.

DTE's Community Ambassadors are in Farmington Hills today to listen, answer questions and connect community members with resources and support because of power outages.

They will be at CARES of Farmington Hills, 27835 Shiawassee Road until 5 p.m.

Free water and storm kits will be provided, while supplies last.

Walk the Hawk will take place on Tuesday, Sept. 8 at 7 p.m., on The Hawk track, located at 29995 W. Twelve Mile Road.
